Llanelli Town Centre will soon be transformed by £60million worth of investment. Five major projects are being developed which will showcase a wide range of arts, entertainment, leisure and business opportunities. Here is how the investment breaks down:

Y Ffwrnes is a cultural and creative centre for entertainment, the arts, education and employment, due for completion by the end of 2012.

The development, in progress in the heart of Llanelli Town centre, will comprise of a new purpose built theatre with flexible space for a wide range of community and professional events and activities, a studio theatre, office space and a social enterprise centre, which will be created in the grade II listed former chapel buildings known as the Zion Chapel and Old Sunday School.

Y Ffwrnes will:

Be a state of the art theatre, the first of its kind in West Wales for over a quarter of a century;

Accommodate 51 jobs in the Creative Industries Sector, safeguarding existing jobs and creating new full and part time opportunities;

Be a base for cultural social enterprises delivering their agenda through the performing arts.
